FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

A one-day tour from Cusco is enough to visit Machu Picchu, especially if you take an early train. However, for a more relaxed experience, many travelers opt for 2 days, staying overnight in Aguas Calientes to explore the town and visit the ruins with plenty of time. This also allows for extra activities, like hiking Huayna Picchu or visiting the hot springs.

A typical full-day tour to Machu Picchu from Cusco costs between $300 and $450 USD per person. This generally includes round-trip train tickets, bus transfers, entrance fees, and a guided tour of the site. Prices can vary based on train class and additional services like private tours or meals.

The best days to visit Machu Picchu are typically weekdays, especially Tuesday to Thursday. These days tend to be less crowded compared to weekends, allowing you to enjoy the site with fewer tourists. Visiting during the early morning is also ideal for experiencing the magic of Machu Picchu with fewer people and better lighting for photos.

The dry season from April to October is the best time to visit, as the weather is more predictable with clear skies, making it ideal for exploring the ruins and capturing stunning views.
