Day 1: Sacred Valley Tour - Pisac and Ollantaytambo - Aguas Calientes

Pick-up and Departure
We begin the day with pick-up from the hotel between 7:00 and 7:30 am. Our private transportation will take us on a scenic route from Cusco through the impressive Inca sites of Sacsayhuaman and Puca Pucara. These ancient fortresses mark the start of our exploration of the Sacred Valley.

First Stop: Manos de la Comunidad Rescue Center
Our first destination is the Manos de la Comunidad Rescue Center, where you will have the opportunity to observe and learn about native Andean animals such as alpacas, llamas, and vicuñas. These animals have been vital to Inca culture, providing wool for textiles and serving as pack animals in high-altitude regions.

Taray Viewpoint: A Classic View of the Sacred Valley
Next, we will descend to the Taray Viewpoint to enjoy one of the most iconic views of the Sacred Valley. This stop offers a perfect spot to take photographs of the extensive agricultural terraces of the valley and the towering Andean peaks.

Inca Archaeological Site of Pisac
Our journey continues to the Inca site of Pisac, perched on the slopes of the Sacred Valley. From here, you can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the valley and explore the remains of Inca temples, residences, and ceremonial altars. The intricate agricultural terraces of the site demonstrate the advanced engineering techniques used by the Incas to adapt to the varied terrain of the region.

Buffet Lunch in Urubamba
Next, we will head to Urubamba, known as the "heart of the Sacred Valley," to enjoy a delicious buffet lunch (not included) featuring a variety of traditional Peruvian dishes. Enjoy the views of the surrounding mountains while recharging for the rest of the day.

Ollantaytambo: The Living Inca Town
Our next stop is the Inca citadel of Ollantaytambo, one of the best-preserved Inca towns that is still inhabited today. You'll walk through narrow streets designed during the Inca era, and marvel at the fortress perched on the hillside. From here, you'll witness the grand stone terraces and learn about the Inca god Wiracocha, whose rock formation can be seen in the surrounding landscape.

• Legend: Ollantaytambo was once the stronghold of the Inca general Ollantay, who defied the emperor in the name of love for a princess. His tale is still told by locals today.

Train to Aguas Calientes
In the late afternoon, we'll head to the Ollantaytambo train station for a scenic journey to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu pueblo). The train follows the path of the sacred Vilcanota River, winding through valleys and offering glimpses of towering mountains and cloud forests.

Upon arrival at the Aguas Calientes train station, you'll be welcomed by our hotel staff and Machupicchu Latin America representative, who will escort you to your hotel. The evening is yours to explore the charming town or rest in preparation for tomorrow's Machu Picchu adventure.

Day 2: Machu Picchu Guided Tour - Return to Cusco

Early Morning Start
After an early breakfast, our guide will pick you up from your hotel lobby between 6:30 and 7:00 am. We'll walk to the bus station to catch the shuttle up to Machu Picchu, a short 30-minute ride that takes you through the misty mountains.

Exploring Machu Picchu
Now comes the highlight of your journey: a guided exploration of Machu Picchu, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Accompanied by our expert guide, you'll discover the secrets of this mysterious and enigmatic Inca citadel, learning about its history, architecture, and spiritual significance.

In the afternoon, we will board the train back to Ollantaytambo, where our private transportation will be waiting to take you back to your hotel in Cusco, arriving in the evening.
