Day 1: Arrival in Lima and Flight to Puerto Maldonado - Stay at Inkaterra Hacienda Concepción

Upon arriving at Lima Airport, you will be immediately transferred to catch your connecting flight to the Amazon city of Puerto Maldonado, the heart of the Peruvian jungle. Once you land, you will be greeted by the lodge staff, and your Amazon adventure will begin as you board a motorized canoe to travel along the Madre de Dios River. The stunning 25-minute journey to Inkaterra Hacienda Concepción offers a preview of the lush green forests and wildlife waiting to be discovered.

Once settled in, enjoy a delicious lunch made with organic ingredients sourced from the Amazon. In the afternoon, venture onto the trails of Concepción, where you will explore the complexities of primary and secondary tropical forests, learning how these diverse ecosystems coexist. As sunset approaches, embark on the Twilight River excursion, a magical journey by motorized canoe on the Madre de Dios, revealing the secrets of nocturnal animals and the southern constellations that light up the skies.

Day 2: Sandoval Lake, Inkaterra Canopy Walkway, and Anaconda Walk

Start your day with a hearty breakfast before heading to Tambopata National Reserve. Hike through the dense rainforest and discover the pristine beauty of Sandoval Lake, home to the endangered giant river otter, colorful macaws, and the majestic Paiche, the largest freshwater fish in the world. You will glide silently across the tranquil lake in a canoe, allowing you to deeply connect with the natural wonders surrounding you.

Later, ascend the Inkaterra Canopy Walkway, crossing seven hanging bridges located among the treetops at a height of 91 feet. From here, watch for wildlife such as toucans, playful monkeys, and elusive three-toed sloths. The journey concludes with the Anaconda Walk, a boardwalk through swampy lands rich in unique plant and animal life. Day 3: Butterfly House and Flight to Cusco

After breakfast, you will return by canoe to Puerto Maldonado, stopping at the charming Butterfly House. Learn about the life cycle of these colorful insects before boarding your flight to Cusco. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by your guide, who will transfer you to your hotel and provide a briefing on the adventure for the following day. Spend the afternoon exploring Cusco or relaxing after your journey.

Day 4: Sacred Valley Tour - Pisac, Ollantaytambo, and Train to Aguas Calientes

After breakfast, embark on a journey through the Sacred Valley. Start at the ruins of Pisac, where the terraces and Inca temples offer stunning views of the valley. Explore the vibrant Pisac Market, where locals sell handmade crafts and textiles. Continue to Urubamba for a buffet lunch, then head to Ollantaytambo, an ancient Inca fortress that still stands against the mountains.

From Ollantaytambo, board the train to Aguas Calientes and admire the scenic ride along the Vilcanota River. Upon arrival, relax and prepare for the adventure of the next day at Machu Picchu.

Day 5: Guided Visit to Machu Picchu - Return to Cusco

Early in the morning, after breakfast, you will ascend by bus to Machu Picchu, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. After the tour, enjoy some free time to explore or hike to additional viewpoints. Return to Aguas Calientes for lunch and relax a bit before taking the afternoon train back to Cusco.

Today is your day to explore Cusco at your own pace or join optional excursions, such as visiting Sacsayhuaman or Maras-Moray and the Salineras salt mines. Dive deeper into the history of the Inca Empire or simply stroll through the colorful streets of the city.
