1 Day - Inca Trail to Machu Picchu

Itinerary in full
Today we will pick you up very from your hotel in Cusco and transferred in our comfortable transport to the train station located in the heart of the Sacred Valley od the Incas at Ollantaytambo town and board the train to Km 104 (start point of our Inca Trail hike). This one-hour train journey allows you to appreciate the fascinating scenery along the sacred Vilcanota River.
Once we reach the kilometer 104 we will disembark the train and walk across bridge over the Urubamba river to the control and check the passports and Inca trail permit and then will visit Chachabamba which is a lovely Inca site which contains water channels, fountains and more. After a short guided tour at Chachabamba we will commence the hike mostly upwards around 3.5 hours until Wiñaywayna (forever young) an impressive Inca site which was an agricultural center with numerous terraces, a religious sector and an urban sector.
After the guided tour we will enjoy our boxed lunch. Then we will continue our hike for an extra hour to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku) from here you will have the first amazing view of Machu Picchu. After a brief stop for pictures, we will walk down for an extra 40 minutes to the enigmatic Inca citadel of Machupicchu for the best and classic photos and then board the bus (30 minutes ride) to Aguas Calientes town for dinner. And then board the train back to Ollantaytambo train station where our representative will be waiting for you and transferred in our comfortable transport back to your Cusco hotel.
Itinerary
Cusco - Train to Km 104 - Chachabamba - Wiñay Wayna - Sun Gate and Machu Picchu - Cusco
Cusco:
4:00am: Today our Machupicchu Latin America expert guide will pick you up from your Airbnb/hotel, board our comfortable and transferred to Ollantaytambo train station located in the heart of the Sacred Valley od the Incas.
Ollantaytambo train station:
5:50am: Board the train to Km 104 (start point of our Inca Trail hike), 1-hour and 15 minutes train journey allows you to appreciate the fascinating scenery along the Vilcanota river.
KM 104 (Inca Trail begins):
7:35AM: After 1 hour and 15 minutes train ride we will disembark from the train at the KM 104, then walk across the bridge over the Urubamba River for 5 minutes to the control and check in our Inca Trail permit and passports.
Chachabamba Archaeological Park:
8:00am: After 10 minutes hike, we will arrive to Chachabamba a lovely Inca city which contains water channels, fountains and more.
8:20am: After this short stop we will commence our hike gradually upwards and enjoying amazing sights of the valley and original Inca paths.
Wiñay Wayna Archaeological Park:
10:30am: After almost 2 hours hike we will arrive to the impressive Wiñay Wayna (forever young) Inca City. Which contains agricultural center with many terraces, religious sector and an urban sector.
Lunch:
11:00am: Enjoy our boxed lunch and recover some energy.
Inti Punku - Sun Gate
11:30am: Then we will continue our hike for an extra hour to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku) to rest and enjoy the first amazing views of Machu Picchu.
12:00pm: Finally, we will walk down for an extra 40 minutes and arrive to the enigmatic Inca citadel of Machupicchu.
Machupicchu Archaeological Park (Circuit 1):
13:00pm: Time to capture the most iconic and classic photos of Machupicchu, while we rest our Machupicchu Latin America expert guide will share all his knowledge about this ancient Inca citadel.
Bus to Aguas Calientes
14:30pm: Board the bus (30 minutes ride) to Aguas Calientes town and enjoy some free time visiting the square or enjoy some meals at the local restaurants.
Train back to Ollantaytambo and transfer to Cusco:
17:00pm: Board the train at Aguas Calientes train station, the train ride take1 hour and 30 minutes to the next train station.
19:00pm: On your arrival to Ollantaytambo train station, our representative will be holding a sign with your name on it by the exit gate, board our comfortable transport to make our way back to Cusco.
21:00pm: Arrive to your Cusco hotel.
